2 jobs=busy busy lady!

things have changed for the better, started a new job Oct. 10 and I have to say working two jobs is kinda tiring but it feels great and learning to drive Big Daddy's car (which is a manual) is making me feel more "adult" like lol sounds kinda weird cause Im 25 but it feels great and Im actually proud of myself at the end of the day :)

at my new job Im getting along with everyone, 2 people the most they know who they are and I really am glad their there even though we dont work everyday together, the days we do its amazing XD
    

    On another note Im working on some new paintings, finally Im getting inspired again ;)

So yea life is perfect right now and I really hope n pray it stays this way!!

CRAZY BUZY THESE DAYS

wedding planning is going great, moved the date to next fall which I dont mind because.....Ive always anted an outside wedding in the woods :)

 work is going great as well, I never thought Id ever say this but I LOVE WHAT I DO and I wouldnt trade this job for anything!

I do miss being out on the road but Im loving having a home and Big Daddy off the road too!

clouded mind but I know itll be ok

  A lot of things are running through my mind lately, I mean Im getting married to my bestfriend at the end of this year, most nights I cant sleep because my mind wont stop and I dont know how to make it stop....Im doing the best I can to deal with everything that comes my way, weither it be relationship, family or friend problems I try to do the best I can to make everything right.

 Im human I make mistakes I disappoint people and myself sometimes but all I can do is push through with my head held high knowing maybe one day Ill change the way I am and actually let the walls down forever, even though I do trust some people well maybe I dont and its the most heaviest darkest feeling knowing and wanting to trust with all I have, I dont want to be jealous or have thoughts that make my day turn to night in a split second, Im so tired feeling alone emotionally.

  Don't get me wrong I love Big Daddy with all my heart hes my life and always will be, Ive never felt this way before and Im thankful for everything he does and well hes amazingly perfect for me haha he puts up with my crazy world and I wouldn't trade that or him for anything! I love him and I know hes the one man in the world that my world stops for and when Im walking down that aisle to him all my stress and worries will disappear because were in this together forever!

even though its stressful n crazy Im getting this done...

wedding planning is stressful enough without having only a couple months to plan it...its crazy busy I feel like my head is spinning and Im being pulled in so many directions

but the funny thing is I wouldn't trade these feelings for anything in the world right now.

Just knowing Im going to be walking down that aisle toward my bestfriend in the whole wide world is the greatest feeling Ive ever had!

Im working on my vows and Im thinking I wanna get the framed in an awesome frame so Big Daddy can have them with him when hes out over the road and look at them whenever he wants....but idk lol I dont want that to be cheesy

Anyway were having a peacock themed wedding I love peacocks I think there so beautiful, I wanted an outside wedding in the fall but there's no way Im gunna get that right now an thats ok cause I can wait for my dream wedding hey there's always our 5 years anniversary :)

wow been awhile since Ive blogged...

I went to Alfred Angelo Sat. Aug 11th to try on wedding dresses, let me say Ive got 2 that I really like!

Its crazy thinking about planning mine and Big Daddys wedding, but so awesome I cant wait til we pick the day we want to get married!

besides dreaming and semi planning our wedding Ive been busy putting in apps, I should be starting work sometime next week an IM SUPER STOKED!!!!!!!

OH Im also selling Avon now.

things are looking up and I look forward to the future!

movin up in life n' it feels so GOOD!!!

WOW!!! been super busy this last week, moved into the house, unpacking "btw I dont like" well still unpacking lol and I just got my CPR certification! YAY ME :) 

   I absolutely love all my roommates and defiantly dreading Big Daddy going back out on the road soon but I know this is what needs to happen. Hopefully he'll get a local job soon so he'll be able to come home every night to me

which reminds me.................WE'RE ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im so happy and so very excited to become Big Daddy's wife one day :-D

to my future in-laws I love you guys so much and I'm so happy and proud to have had you guys in my life these past 5 years and super excited to have you as my mother n father in law and to Big Daddy's 2 brothers and sister you guys are amazing and I love you guys!

LIFES CHANGING and WE'RE ENJOYING IT!

well its officially home time!!! 103 days out Id say Big Daddy deserves his rest :)

So, Im getting off the truck for good which is hard but this is what we have to do to live the life we both want. I think it'll be good, moved in with Big Daddy's bestfriend and wife and I gotta say Im enjoying it so far, its so nice being around women again n not just truckers lol

 gunna be getting a job and hopefully Big Daddy will be getting the local job he wants and deserves!!!

I've decided Im still going to blog but of course it wont be about the open road, just life and poetry! until next time enjoy every breath you have and love with all you've got!!

Bummer dude!

ok...I've been down for the last 5 days....Big Daddy told me I'm going to be getting off the truck the next time we get into town for home time, I knew this life on the road wouldn't last forever but I didn't think it would be over this quick. ugh no matter how I try n think of this situation it makes me sad, seriously sad! Like the only thing I like about it, is I get to have my lil' man Coco with me, he would be with us now but of course Big Daddy's company doesn't have a pet policy which they SHOULD!!! 

    Anyways there's my self pity party.....time to put my big girl pants on n get over it huh?

Im trying I really am.

HOT HOT HOT!!

Yesterday the air conditioning went out, let me tell you I will not take nice cool air conditioning for granted ever again! It was so hot but hey could've been worse, we could be back east where its hot and humid...I swear I would die!

 Anyways were headed to the Salt Lake City terminal to get it fixed, hopefully they'll be able to fix it quick so we can hit the road again! Oh I picked up the July issue of Challenge Magazine and much to my surprise in the letters to the editor section there was the very first thing I sent, I totally forgot I had even sent it in lol I submitted it under Nika Smith instead of Nicole Smith, I dont remember why I did that cause only a couple people call me Nika. Oh well huh, I think its pretty awesome they put that in there, I submitted a poem, keeping my fingers crossed they print it :)

red orange skies after scary storm...AWESOME!

we were in Kansas relaxing for our 10 hour break, when all of a sudden the truck started rocking back and forth like someone was outside moving the truck. So Big Daddy gets up and looks outside and guess what he saw? grey clouds, lightening and the rocking wasn't a person lol it was the 70 m.p.h wind!! I'll be very honest I was a bit nervous thinking that a tornado was gonna happen any minute, but hey I had my camera ready!!

 well after the wind, rain, lightening stopped the clouds started to part and on the horizon was the most beautiful sky I've ever seen....it was different shades of red and oranges...pretty awesome that's for sure!

driving on I-80-W in Wyoming enjoying the beautiful scenery when I look up and see what appears to be an eye in the hill! There was only one eye, kind of like the hill was winking ;)

no trailer brake lights!?

Got pulled into the back of a weigh station yesterday 6-26 in Watson,MO because the trailer brake lights weren't working...HAHA...totally thought it was cause the weights weren't good. I was so nervous when Big Daddy was in the guard shack, big sigh of relief when he came out. Had to wait for the lady to come out and do a full inspection,
which took awhile cause there's were a few more trucks that got pulled in after us but oh well no biggie, she said we couldn't move til it was fixed BUMMER!
  So Big Daddy took a look to find out why the lights weren't working, found out it was electrical...BIGGER BUMMER...or so I thought, Big Daddy fixed it...that's right my mans smart lol
So all is good, delivered in Omaha,NE this morning and we'll be headed to Tulsa,OK tomorrow, hopefully NO TORNADOS!!
Actually to be perfectly honest I want to see the funnel clouds just keep the actual tornado away lol

Great weather YAY!

Headed to East St.Louis,IL 

we're in Ohio right now and its been great weather today, unlike the last week where its been really hot over here on the east coast but hey I cant complain got to see a beautiful sunrise this morning!

Beautiful sunrise in Michigan this morning!

You cant tell from the photos but the sun was bright red when it was rising!

here we go again!

So we did a 34hr restart over the weekend, got a full 70hrs of drive time Monday 6-18 morning and not to long after we got a load, picked up in Portland,CT 6-18 n delivered in Waynesburg,OH yesterday 6-20. Well when we picked up I was getting out of the truck to help Big Daddy move the trailer axle 'tandems' so that our weight was legal, which is steer tires 'front truck tires' cant weigh more than 12,000, the drives 'back tires on the truck' and trailer axle 'tandems' no more than 34,000 on each.
  
  Anyways when I was stepping down to the ground, under my right foot in all its glory, a freakin rock. Next thing I know I roll my ankle and land flat on my back in the dirt, HA! that'll teach me to look at the ground before stepping down, which I do keep a three point stance '2 hands 1 foot or 1 hand 2 feet' every time I get in and out of the truck and I always look at the ground to make sure Im not going to step in or on anything, hmm Im not sure why I didn't this time? All is good though, yea my ankle/foot hurt still but hey it'll heal up...dang rock in Connecticut!
 
   On another note were in Ohio...SO HOT! got another load under us headed to Napoleon,OH and it looks like the planners are headed us back west, which Big Daddy is happy with, cause he really doesn't like it on the east coast, me on the other hand, I like it! Id rather be on the west coast but Im happy anywhere we go. Im not the driver so I think I enjoy it more over here ;-) Being able to see beautiful places that most people never get to, I feel so blessed to be out here with him. I know Ive said it before but seriously I cant imagine being out here with anyone else, hes great at what he does n Im so proud of him.
I trust Big Daddy with my life, that's why I don't worry bout the traffic, weather and messed up roads, he can get through it all no problem. Speaking of the messed up roads, there's so many tolls over here that are there to pay for the roads to get fixed, so question is why are the roads still messed up?
seriously its like a roller coaster or riding a mechanical bull. I don't get it, if the tolls are really there to pay for the roads to get fixed it should be smooth sailing not messed up.
!!GET THE ROADS FIXED!!!
until then I guess we'll all just enjoy the bumpy ride whenever were on the road.

another state gets crossed off!

Well we'll be crossing off another state from the list when Saturday 6-16 rolls around because we're headed to Connecticut tomorrow!  We'll only have 6 more states to go til we have been to all the continental states, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont will be all that's left to visit, seriously cant wait til I can say "we've been to all 48 continental US states, now we're working on going to Alaska and Hawaii!"
we want to go to Alaska and Hawaii of course so we've been to all 50 states but those
two will be a vacation someday. Until then Ill just keep dreaming!
